Because many of today’s students leave high school without acquiring the necessary skills to be successful in college or to compete for meaningful employment, Bay Ridge utilizes Cognitive Restructuring and Student Transformation curricula that sets us apart from other institutes of higher education. This approach to teaching makes explicit the expectation that the student should be able to do something with what they know. It is the expectation that the students who complete our two year program will:
- Have a strong grasp of the Bible
- Be able to write a 25 page research paper and prepare a business plan
- Do calculus
- Have proficiency in Spanish as a second language
- Develop skills needed to be employable and effective in today’s high performance work force.
Our courses are team-taught by a group of committed Christian instructors, integrating content from their various disciplines to enhance relevance. The following specific abilities needed to be effective and competent 21st Century leaders are integrated into each area of instruction:
